Cotton candy, marshmallow, and ice cream open Hawas Addiction, and the name is doing exactly what it says. This is one of the sweetest openings in a lineup that has never been shy about sugar, and it doesn't ease into the gourmand register so much as start there.

Coconut milk carries the middle and keeps things from reading as a straight candy shop. There's a creaminess here that rounds out the sharper sugar of the opening, more melted dessert than spun sugar.

Cedarwood, amber, and moss show up late and change the conversation. They don't undo the sweetness, but they give it somewhere to go besides more sweetness, a dry, slightly green edge that keeps the dry-down from staying one-note.

Rasasi's Hawas line has sprawled into dozens of flankers by now. Addiction is the most dessert-forward entry yet, and it's built unisex, so the sugar isn't fenced off to one side of the store.
