Patchouli grounds it. Modern patchouli is not the raw, earth-heavy note it was forty years ago — it reads clean and dark and slightly sweet, reinforcing the almond without competing with it.

Orange essence lifts the composition just enough to keep the bitter almond and patchouli from reading too dense in the first impression.

Amber closes it, as it tends to do in this family. The overall effect is warm, dark, and settled. Persistent. Nothing here is asking for approval.
